Oh How I Love Fred Perry

Hey Guys,

So today me and my sister were just relaxing, when she she told me, "I watched a documentary on the rots of British street style roots. Its sooooo good you have to watch it!"

So instantly I wanted to watch it, even though I knew the history behind it. I can honestly say it was one of the most interesting fashion documentaries i have watched in a while. I know that it was old, but I didn't care, because I enjoyed it thoroughly. It spoke on how style and class would mix into one, and how youth considered "working class" would handle style starting straight from the 1950's, after WW2 (World War 2).

On of my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE past time styles was definitely THE MODS. The fact that they had clean cut style, and that they wanted to look different from the past style of THE TEDDY BOYS & GIRLS, showing that they want to pay attention to detail. The style was also taken from a lot of jazz influenced musicians, which gives a hint of their taste of music.

SO I BET YOUR WONDERING..... WHAT HAS THIS GOT TO DO WITH FRED PERRY?!

Well historically Fred Perry was a sport line for "upper class" people, which had good fabrics for sweat, which just so happened the mods loved the clothing line. I mean the mods were party animals, so when you are so clean and precise, you still want to look good right? Hence the fact that the history of Fred Perry has changed a bit, intertwining mod/neo mod style with sports wear which is why I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!

Now up to date with the brand, they had made a truly amazing clothing line collaboration with the late and truly my music inspiration Amy Whinehouse. The new line for Autumn caused a bit of controversy if they should sit put it up, but decided that it was a great way of honouring her. I couldn't agree more.
